The standard analog input is balanced by a transformer. Because of the high costs, transformers have become increasingly unattractive over the decades. However, transformers offer great advantages in connection technology, especially in today’s world, where interference (WLAN, mobile phone, etc.) is a serious problem. The devices are galvanically isolated from each other, the connections are ungrounded, and they offer a high degree of interference immunity. Both connections, XLR and RCA (optional), lead in parallel to the input transformers.
