Daria Kameneva, who was awarded first prize in the European Piano Competition in France in 2011, debuts with her first CD recording with works by Johannes Brahms. Markedly powerful, as in the early, potent Sonata No. 2, op 2 (1852), but equally subtle, for example in the Four Piano Pieces op. 119 (1893) belonging to Brahms’ later works with their intimate character far removed from superficial virtuosity, she displays the full range of her abilities. The programme is topped off with the Variations on an Original Theme in D major Op. 21 from the year 1857. Daria Kameneva performs on a Shigeru Kawai Grand Piano.
